Even an Obama advisors are trying to relay this message.
Raising taxes on a good economy will only stagnate and hurt the economy which will put people out of work and so on.
Japan went through this in the nineties, spending billions on infrastructures only to have there unemployment rate double and delay there recovery.
The US spent $114 billion on infrastructure this year and nearly the same last year with no tax hikes. How well did it grow the economy?
The deficit was declining for three straight years even with the current tax cuts because of higher corporate profits for one. It would have gone to zero by 2012 if not for this crisis and it probably would have come sooner if not for the ridiculous spending of congress.
