The calculations must have been staggering
I can tell you, thanks to a book titled Five Billion Vodka Bottles to the Moon: Tales
of a Soviet Scientist (W. W. Norton, 1991) by Iosif Shklovsky (the guy who cowrote
the 1966 classic Intelligent Life in the Universe with Carl Sagan) that I do know
how many vodka bottles it would take to reach the Moon.
And thanks to viewing a PBS educational program in elementary school, I also know
if you could drive your car at 60 mph to the Moon without stopping, it would take
6 months to get there.
