getting the news
I was once in a situation where the power in our community was out for ten days. No TV, no newspapers were delivered (it was a weather issue and they weren’t coming in) and no internet. The only contact we had with the outside was a small, ancient but reliable battery powered transistor radio. When it was over and the TV came back on I was amused to see footage of our noble politicians giving TV press conferences to reassure people who, because there was no electrical supply, couldn’t possibly watch TV. Comical.
