There's a difference Tom in wanting political power to recede from a leader you find despicable and wishing for the country to go down the tubes so that will happen.
I find it extremely disturbing that you frequently imply that the people on the left are cheering for failed policies, natural disasters, lost wars, and dead citizens just so the political pendulum will swing. That's insulting.
I and I'm sure all others on this board certainly celebrate the political fortunes of the ones we support but I'm certain we all prefer that those fortunes are set by the competence of those leaders and not the misfortune of their opponents.
Now I will make one exception. During a campaign as we just saw, I celebrated every screwup and misstep of Sarah Palin because her gaffes were only as a candidate and not as a leader in the commission of national policy. When George Bush screwed up it saddened, frightened, and embarrassed me. I found nothing to celebrate although I occasionally sought humor in the absurdity and idiocy to try to dull the pain of those other traits much as surgeons and soldiers crack jokes in mortal situations.
