re: Wanting leftism to fail

There's a difference Tom in wanting political power to recede from a leader you find despicable and wishing for the country to go down the tubes so that will happen.

Nobody has wished for the country to "go down the tubes." Not sure where you pulled that out from.

The principles I hold tell me that the socialist ideas Obama is likely to push will result in disaster for this country. Obviously, you believe that socialist ideas will cause success. I think I have more historical evidence for my side than yours, but be that as it may. This is the reason conservatives and libertarians are hoping he doesn't manage to carry his plans off.

It isn't about wanting the country to go down the tubes. It's about preventing that.

Rob linked to a leftist blog, and all their Limbaugh links were, by sheer accident I'm sure, to members-only pages (it's funny they're sending money to Rush. I'm not). Most of the rest of the stories on this have been filtered through media kidneys.

If you're actually interested in Rush's opinion, you can find it here.

I find it extremely disturbing that you frequently imply that the people on the left are cheering for failed policies, natural disasters, lost wars, and dead citizens just so the political pendulum will swing. That's insulting.

I'm finding it disturbing at how fast the behavior of Democrats and leftists over the past eight years has been sucked down the memory hole.

The hypocrisy is a mile deep. Like I've said before, this isn't about principles, it's about gang colors. For example, I've already resigned myself to the fact that Obama will be hailed for things that Bush would have been reviled for.
