Who created hedge funds and resisted regulating derivatives?

Do you have an answer for that? Names? Or is your talking hat enough of a source to go by? Did you know that the first hedge funds were created in 1949? Do you even know what the hell a derivative is, or what's involved in regulating them?

Or is your black-and-white "conservatives did it all" enough for you?
