Democrats don't oppose defense spending

Some do of course but the majority, from what I can see, oppose offense spending, the huge expenditure of funds designed to not repulse invaders at our own borders but instead to play policemen to the world and make boogeymen out of any culture not our own.

If you do some research you'll find that traditionally Democrats have greatly supported the individual soldiers, the veterans, the benefits that keep them trained and healthy and ready when they're truly needed. It's easy for the Republicans to claim they spew money to the military because they traditionally promote the big ticket items, new aircraft carriers, high tech weaponry, Star Wars. Of course all the legislators sign on to those bills because the political price is huge if the opponent uses the advantage and cries "traitor".

Money doesn't equal defense Jody. Intelligence does.
