First greed, and now envy. Human nature is the greatest enemy of humans.

Conservatives (Bush, Cheney, Paulson, etc.) saw to it that their constituency was bailed out. Billions upon billions upon billions of dollars flooding the large financial institutions so that owners of hedge funds and derivatives would not be left holding empty bags.

A great case can be made for those people having made foolish, greedy decisions. And while complaining about the partial nationalization of some of these institutions, they have not decided to stick with capitalism and the consequences of their actions. They're taking the money. So much for honor. Their greed has been rewarded.

And now comes a scheme for bailing out the folks who made foolish, greedy decisions in purchasing houses. The Conservative screaming has commenced. Those people, the average schmuck, should be taught responsibility. Should be taught to live with the consequences of their actions.

Envy.

It's a puzzlement in another way. This bailout benefits middle-class people who made foolish decisions and it drives Conservatives wild.

As does an auto industry loan program. That's because of another middle-class beneficiary, Union workers. Conservatives continue their war on the middle class, even though most of them are middle class.

Groveling, obsequious, defending huge salaries and bonuses for ruining their companies and the economy, these people complain about a minimum wage and bailing out foolish middle class real estate investors.

They eat their own.
