Yes, Character Counts.

Clinton and the rest opened the door to the decline in morality. But the corporate sector helped with the video games and the entertainment industry depravity.

None of this is new, of course. However, the masses are no longer receiving as good an education and so entertainment and reality slid closer together. Whether it was Clinton's BJs or Vice City where kids and adults are scored higher on how well they get to rob, loot and murder and drive recklessly - the current morality is the morality of immediate gratification. Spastic films for folks with 3 second attention spans, social network sites for folks who are socially crippled, profanity's regular appearance now in the kindergarten, parents that are for all intents worthless, the crop of looter CEO's that appeared en masse in the late 90's and the drug culture that has been glorified as the escape mechanism of choice for the young, poor or unhappy - ALL these things are part of a large picture that have helped make the current economic crisis possible.

Things will get worse before they will get better, but they WILL get better.

There are plusses to this crisis. Everywhere one looks. Smart families will get closer, smaller pleasures will return...the grace of a home-cooked meal with those one loves. The joy of a good book. The better use of time.
