If I did care that much about whether people agreed with me or not I would go about it entirely differently. I realize my "style" here is not likely to persuade anyone - I'm so abrasive that even people who agree with me are turned off. I promise I would go about persuading differently.

On some subjects I would like to persuade but also know that it is a rare person who can overcome their early training and that it's hopeless. My frustration comes through in advance.

What I do try to do here is point out the utter ridiculousness of some people. I'm amazed at the lack of insight, introspection or ability examine themselves and their beliefs, people who will go to any lengths to avoid questioning their own internal authorities.

But persuade? I might give it a try. And your's is a superb post, as are most of them
