That's a good question. BTW, I'm a flea-bag, not flee-bag.

I don't know that there's a good answer to that. I'm just having to much fun pointing out how reactionary the Conservatives have become. And I have to admit to a degree of sympathy for your moderate Republican.

The same thing that happened to the entire US under Bush and Cheney has happened to the Republicans - they've been hijacked. Good, decent people who truly believe in family values, God, especially Christ, and their country have been taken over politically by radical elements seeking only to transfer what remains of the US economy to the super-wealthy.

There is a blessed opportunity available now. I think Obama truly is interested in bipartisanship and has hit the "my way or the highway" philosophy of the neocon. Negotiation is a sign of weakness to them, no compromise. Just as there was a golden opportunity at the start of Bush's first term. The surplus could have been used to pay down debt, was instead squandered on ridiculous foreign wars. Read Paul O'Neill's book, Bush's first Secretary of the Treasury, for those details.

And the Republicans under Limbaugh will work for this country to fail over the next 2 and 4 years, so as to try to wrest power back. The last think they want is for this country to recover. Which is a tragedy.
