Thouse shape are more than likey caused by the compression routine for JPG images. which use mathamatical shapes to allow pictures to be stored in less space on your camera. best thing to think of it is like blocking caused on cheap DVD players or bad digital reception. if he took higher res pictures then the shapes would dissapear and become more detailed . And i live 30mins away and they did't fly that way when they droped me off ;)
