A useful website

Enter into the calculator the Universal Time, the long/lat, and the date, for any place & time you want.

It returns nav/astro data for selected celestial bodies, you will probably be primarily interested in the sun and moon. "Hc" is the elevation, the number of degrees above the horizon the body is at that moment in time. "Zn" is its azimuth, or the number of degrees (measured clockwise, 0-360) from north.

Besides navigation and astronomy, this can be useful for research and forensic work, such as measuring shadow lengths and bearings off aerial photos to determine the heights, orientations and locations of objects.
