I was under the mistaken impression (from artist's conceptions) that all the dinos of this tribe had roughly the same size forelegs relative to their stature. If there is indeed a noticeable diminuition in size among the later, more evolved representatives, then the "vestigial limb" theory becomes much more reasonable. The problem is solved.
