In the archaeo-boilerplate era

I was tasked with writing a huge report evaluating the maintenance and test protocols for a complex electronic system (whose purpose and operation I never did understand). I had to rely on previous documents to get the format and tone right, and soon came to realize that all this verbiage was simply filler. I started amusing myself by inserting little comments which I knew would never be read; if read, would never be understood; and if understood, would never be reported. I do recall one which I was particularly proud of:

"[System acronym] is an effective signal degradation preventive procedure when applied as part of a conscientiously applied program of system testing and regular maintenance care."
