Obama is just another politician
He screams outrage over AIG bonuses eventhough his admin initiated rules to allow them, then quietly puts the breaks on plans to recoup them. Now he tries to side step more rules governing bonuses. U.S. aims to help firms sidestep bailout rules. This plan already risks taxpayer money to enrich wall street indsiders, but the Obama admin'steam of walstreet insiders don't seem to feel the groups responsible for this mess should risk any sacrifice. What happened to all the outrage over Bush going around Congress?
I am really upset that Obama seems to be just as much in the pocket of wall street as Bush. There is no talk of breaking up these entities which are "too big to fail". The long term solution is to break these companies up and let those who gamble foolishly in the future fail. Obama is doing a lot of easy thing and is tackling an admirable array of issues, but I don't think he is willing to tackle the really tough issues other than by printing money and borrowing from the future. If the Republican's weren't so stupidly pushing the same policies that got us in this mess Obama would be giving them a big opening. His overall approval will eventually start following his issue ratings down hill if he doesn't start holding wall streets feet to the fire. An approval rating similar to Bush's at this point given the very different election outcomes and his president elect ratings is not a good sign.
Now we know why the europeans wanted him to win so bad. They wanted a chance to get even and tell the US pres to go fly a kite we'll deal with the issues our own way.

Mark
