At some point in the future, our leaders may have to say something along the lines of "yes, Los Angeles got hit because we didn't want to waterboard a known terrorist. We hope the bereaved understand the sacrifice they made for our national image--not like they had a choice or anything."

Let's hope Americans are as noble about these things as you are.
