"Republicans are seeking to boost party's appeal ahead of future elections."

"WASHINGTON - With its party struggling to define itself, a group of prominent Republicans launched a listening tour Saturday in a bid to boost the GOP's sagging image and regroup for future elections."

Seems to me they've defined themselves well and the American people see them clearly. Their economic policies have led to ruin. Iraq is held together only with American military glue and Afghanistan is lost along with Pakistan even though Bush had twice as long as WWII. And the nomination of Palin was a real show of disdain for the American people.

Their party succeeded beyond it's wildest dreams. The wealthy are becoming super-wealthy, the poor poorer and wars for empire are being fought. That the principles of the Republican Party do not lead to the average person being able to realize the American Dream is built in to their platform, and what they regret is that fact is now obvious. It's not the reality that is the problem, it's that people see the reality. That's the basis for the Conservative protests about the free press and "old news".

So a new spin is necessary, I guess. How do they wrap those same old turds so as to hide the stink until after another election?

We'll see. All that's for sure is they will try desperately to blame Obama for not fixing their mess.
