Time is probably on their side. Sooner or later the Dems will screw up and if the GOP is still a viable alternative they will bounce back, but that's their only hope. Their ideas are toxic.

But the thing is, they are morphing into a non-viable alternative to a very large majority of Americans. In this scenario it's not hard to imagine a third party forming.
