Space/Science — HabitableZone

Space/Science » in reply to NASA TV needs to join up with Discovery, TLC, and Nat Geo.

Even the Science Channel has gone downhill so soon

It started out with such promise, but now it looks more and more like
the Discovery Channel, which is no big surprise since that is its parent
company.

There have been some good programs on SC, especially about the US
and Soviet space programs. They also rebroadcast Carl Sagan's Cosmos,
but the commercials and edits ruined it for me, plus they seemed to just
drop the second rebroadcast about halfway through with no explanation.

But what do we get now? Survivor programs, How do they do that
borefests, and variations on Mythbusters, which spend most of their
time finding different ways to blow up things. Apparently the network
is run by teenage males.

Hopefully as the Internet becomes even more prominent, there will be
people creating truly quality science programs and keep that effort
consistent. I already get most of my news from the Internet, so why
not science programs.
