Flags and impacts

Having all the Apollo DVDs, I've noticed that after LM liftoff for Apollo 17, the flag was still standing, but seriously bent forward.

I wonder how a SIVB or LM impact on the Moon can be regognized...;ejectas of shiny pieces with paint?
Besides, they didn't impact at the same speed...
