Morning Mystery

Got up to let the cat out, stepped into the backyard. (Backyard faces south)
Noticed Venus to the east, and took a moment to enjoy a beautiful predawn morning.

Just as I was about to go back inside, I looked once more at Venus, then followed west, along the plane of the ecliptic to spot another planet, which I presumed to be Jupiter. (Looking SSE)
I keep a pair of 10x50 binoculars just inside the back door, so I grabbed them to confirm if it was Jupiter, or not. (Jovian Moons)
Immediately, it was clear, that it was indeed Jupiter, with Ganymede, or Callisto, at Jupiter's eight o'clock position.

Suddenly, at Jupiter's 4:30 position, and at a distance of 10-15 Ganymede radii, I saw a brief, bright point of light.

It did not look like an aircraft or a satellite, and I stayed on target in hopes of sighting it again.
I saw it a total of 5 times. It had a period of about twenty seconds, and appeared to be stationary in the sky, as Jupiter rolled by.

Could this be a Satellite in Geostationary Orbit?
