Guys, what I'm seeing on this thread is not really what I want for Space/Science, and it's not traditionally what the community's wanted.
There's nothing subtle about Tom's dogged nonpartisanship. It's like a two-by-four, but that's likely because of the contrast with mcfly, RL, hank, and ER's partisan slapfest.
Now, to be fair, I too find Tom's studied pose of nonpartisanship disconcerting, viewed against our common history. And we have unfinished business over the paradox of a self-proclaimed champion of science being a rabid climate change denier.
But we won't achieve closure on those nagging doubts through sniping and snark. Please take Tom's careful nonpartisanship at face value, here; and don't try to inject political partisanship into this board.
We have other boards more suited to clearing the air over issues of political history. In no way do I want to discourage settling things. But it can't be done here.
OK?
