Referring to the Democrats' opposition to the ultraconservative Miguel Estrada?
Back then the opposition to his nomination was based on his extreme ideology, his lack of judicial experience, and his refusal to answer questions on abortion and affirmative action.
I certainly don't recall any Democrats slandering him with an accusation of being "Un-American".
