When a sudden and unexpected event occurs, you must strike quickly and plant the seed that is most to your advantage
and push hard before people have a chance to think things over and start to form their own opinions--before the new paradigm takes shape. Like diverting an asteroid before it can strike earth, the earlier you apply the thrust to alter its orbit the more effective that nudge will be.

Not only has Trump decapitated the agency charged with investigating his alleged treason, the new head will be appointed by one of the chief suspects, Sessions, who is actually so deeply implicated he has been forced to recuse himself from the entire proceedings. Now he is suddenly elevated to the position of kingmaker. FBI, Attorney General, Justice Department, who will guard the custodians? The House investigators? They just want the whole story to go away. The Senate? Did you see Ted Cruz questioning Sally Yates?

Who will the new FBI head be? No doubt some lawyer with impeccable wingnut credentials and deep personal loyalty to Trump. Somebody like Christie or Giuliani. We are told that the investigation will proceed regardless of who is FBI chief--we have been assured of that by none other than House Majority leader McConnel. Yeah, right.

The fascists have a team in power that will stop at nothing to nurture an environment that will divert more and more of the nation's wealth and power to their control and for their friends' benefit. They will not easily give that up, they have been trying to do that for decades and they know if it doesn't happen now they may never again get another chance. They will be ruthless, they will stop at nothing. They are so convinced the population is so joyful at getting their factory, retail and coal mining jobs back (yes, I am being sarcastic) that they will find no one to oppose them. And they might be right.

I have no idea who will come out on top. All I know is that I never expected it would come this far, and certainly not in only three months. This will not be a genteel parliamentary minuet. There will teeth on the sidewalk before its over. There will be bloodshed.
