You missed the nail and hit your thumb
When the DOW was climbing to stratospheric altitudes, every liberal on this board was deriding it as phony growth, which had nothing to do with real economic issues.
Well I don't recall making that claim, but it turned out to be true didn't it? But let's turn down the volume and THINK. Of course the dow is an economic indicator, because THAT IS WHAT IT IS. Is it always accurate? Obviously not because no one can predict the future with 100% accuracy. But the dow and the broader indexes are an aggregate of how investors, with the knowledge they have, feel about the present and future.
The Bush economy was slow growth that felt like a recession. Sure there was measurable overall growth, but at the same time the middle class shrunk as the rich got more and the poor and middle class got less. The growth benefited the rich in other words.
A decrease in the RATE of the job hemmorage is a positive economic sign.
For the thousandth time, Obama didn't cause the economy to collapse god damn it. If job losses are slowing you are damn right that is a good sign. WTF!?
As for your graph you throw up constantly, 2009 is Bush's deficit. And funny how it stops at 2019, just before health care reform would make or break the economy.
