McCarthyism, the tactic of branding anyone with whom McCarthy disagreed as vile Communists, misusing the language to terrify the public into supporting his hysteria and ruining the lives of folks, is a tactic you are continuing to use.

Always have used. Not even McCarthy, a craven demagogue, called all Democrats Communist, as did you. (Demagogue - a political leader who seeks support by appealing to popular passions and prejudices.)

You may want to ask yourself if you are comfortable believing that You and the Dittoheads are the only true, patriotic Americans. Or what the world would be like if the US had to depend upon you and Rush to defend the shores, with no help from the pinkos.

We just came through Bush & Cheney. We've seen what demagogues do with the basic Conservative ideology - war, depression, crimes against humanity, all of them "normal", a way of life.

No one should castigate people who oppose that, who want a better world where more people can live comfortably. That means conservation along with other measures.
