The problem is the Palestinians and always has been.

In 1948, the Palestinians boycotted the UN conference on partition and started a war instead. They lost.

Shortly thereafter, the Palestinians blew up King Abdullah who was trying to make a peace deal with Israel.

From then on, there was an unceasing list of brutal and senseless attacks against Israel by Palestinian terrorists which has never stopped.

The Palestinians, seeking to convert Jordan into a staging ground for attacks, started the Jordanian Civil War against the ruling Hashemite monarchy. They lost and were expelled from Jordan into Lebanon.

Next, the Palestinians combined with the Lebanese Muslims in an effort to exterminate the Lebanese Christians. This was the Lebanese Civil war.

It takes TWO sides to make peace, but only ONE to continue with violence. Israel has been ready for peace since 1948. When the Palestinians renounce violence in word and deed there can be peace, but not until.
