But even the British (it was their oil companies Mossadeq was nationalizing) have forgiven us by now. We stepped in, got rid of Mossadeq, put our man in charge, and kicked the Brits out.

Well, at least we succeeded in keeping the Communists out. Now we've got Islamic fundamentalists instead. No one's ever going to mistake them for Communists.
