DX analog TV

When I was a little kid (almost 60 years ago) my Uncle Frank got one of the first TV sets in Tampa. He was a radio/electronics hobbyist and was on top of the latest developments, and he had a huge guyed antenna in his back yard. Long before Tampa got its first station, we would go to his house and "watch TV", which usually meant staring at snowy images of a test pattern from Jacksonville, or a baseball game from Havana. It's one of my earliest memories.

I was living in New York City when color TV came out in the middle 50s, I remember the family walking miles through the snow to my grandfather's to watch the Friday Night Fights, and on Sunday, Ed Sullivan and Disney (it was in color, but we had to watch in B&W.) We didn't own our own TV until the early 60s.
