That is because the High Pressure that usually sits over you has been sitting over us.
It has been a hot and dry June in Houston. Much like the summer of 1980. I also read the summer of 1900 was like this. Probably others as well.
I hate it when we get a High pressure sitting on us for weeks. Not only do we bake under it, it keeps any rain from forming.
