In 1618, Galileo observed a comet through his telescope.
He made the same mistake as Aristotle; he thought that
comets were an atmospheric phenomena.
Jesuit astronomers observed that comet of 1618
through their telescopes and concluded that it was
a cosmic phenomena at distances beyond the moon.
While I am no fan of Jesuits [their political intrigues
caused a lot of grief over the centuries], but they did get it right
on the location of comets, while Galileo and the pagan Greek, Aristotle, both got it wrong.
Also, It's time to correct the myths and propaganda about Galileo verses Christian cosmology being taught in most universities.
Myth: Galileo was antiChristian and an atheist.
Fact: Galileo was NOT an atheist;
he was a CHRISTIAN.

Did you know Galileo got it wrong?
