But they don't seem to mind one bit when they offend us. They tell us we're infidels and our religion is wrong and then expect us to adhere and honor their beliefs. God help us if someone is rough with their Koran but what about when they do destroy our Bibles? I don't like Muslims very much because of their attitude of "my way or you don't deserve to exist."

And then I remember my Muslim friend, an Egyptian doctor (now a well-established cardiologist in Kentucky) with whom I worked closely when he was a Fellow in our clinic. We used to discuss religion and I learned a lot from him and he learned from me. We had some great discussions and he was very open minded but very devout. He was married to an American woman, also a doctor. After 9/11 when there were so many adverse reactions against Muslims in this country, I called Reda to check on him. He was safe and hadn't experienced any adverse things where he lived. But there was a distance in his attitude. It's like 9/11 had created a division there that made him wary.
