I've got the power and am going to pay you squat, and cut your benefits so I can get as rich as I want. I had a pension cancelled because the division was sold and I wasn't vested even though I was asked to stay with the company.

Allegory,

While you work harder and harder to do more work for the same pay, I'll get rich playing corporate shelll games buying and selling so fast no one will ever know whether I did anything usefull or not.

I've lived it I've seen it and I'm pissed Tom. Everywhere I've gone I've improved productivity for key products 25 to 100%. Those changes are real profitibility improvements. The This is not average performance, yet I make average pay in my field.ideal of capitalism is pay for performance. There are numerous examples beyond my own indicating our system is not working as advertised. That causes anger, and it could explode amongst those struggling just to survive. The worker manager covenants were broken when the overly strong position of unions was busted, and since then Management has paid increasingly less attention to win win situations. It's making the crappy union attitude even worse in general. People can easily see these shell games don't result in real improvements on the factory floor.

I'm only making around 6 figures so don't qualify as "rich" under Obama, but I hope to run a business in semi-retirement and if I do I have a decent chance of making it to that level. I would not mind paying even 10% of extra on the differential income to solve some of the longstanding issues in this country. I have no issue with paying my taxes now either and didn't want the Bush tax cuts.

Regards,
Mark
