The other "problem" with Harriot
He may have beaten Galileo to the punch, but his records went unfound
and undocumented publicly until 1965, a bit late for the history books.
I wonder how many others before Harriot and Galileo also looked at the
sky with a telescope but didn't record or understand what they saw?
Detailed record keeping is a more recent art than one might think.
