ESA isn't saying anything..
"Why isn't ESA saying anything?"
Because in terms of public outreach and dissemination of data, ESA is utterly dysfunctional and completely broken.
The reason is that each instrument team is 'self' funded by its host institution or national space agency, whilst the spacecraft is funded centrally by ESA. i.e. Rosetta is ESA funded, OSIRIS (it's best camera) is not.
Thus - there is no centralised responsibility for the dissemination of data and public outreach.
It's an outrage and an embarrassment.
