Buck...

The data is not valid. It assumed presence equalled causality, and the authors have a huge axe to grind. If you want irony, I can give you this paper and wait for the inevitable comment. You'll see the trap, but you'll drop right into it.

I can refer you--again--to this article on medical care in France and elsewhere. Notice that medical costs are going up everywhere.

Here's a report on spending in Canada. Just look at the Overview.

Does it occur to you that medical costs might just be rising because people are using more advanced medical care in greater quantities nowadays?

Does it occur to you that if the government takes over this industry and we get equivalent service for much less cost that this would be the first time in our history that the government has done this with an industry?

Government health care is not a magic bullet that will give us everything we want for free. Your gods in Washington aren't going to save us all. They never could. In any case, the ones offering to save us are the same ones telling us we're all going to die. You are being fed a load of crap by people who have a lot to gain by having the entire broad-spectrum medical industry and the resulting wealth and power dropped into their laps.
