...so you must mean the charge for leg amputation? Let's see what they have to say about where the number comes from, shall we?
I can tell you that last year, a trip to the emergency room (my transportation) cost me almost $1500. And the damned doctor did nothing for me and only spent about 10 minutes with me. If my leg had needed amputation (completely not what I needed), then I assure you it would have cost a good deal more than $1500.
