re: A credit to your PC
One thing I have done is blown off the huge Norton packages like I used to have, and stuck only with Norton Antivirus. I don't have Norton doing all those weird other chores it used to do.
I find that Microsoft has pretty good built-in setups for things like firewalls and other protection systems, at least lately.
My only complaint about the vanilla Norton antivirus is that it doesn't seem to give me the kind of control over cookies that I like to have. It would be nice to be able to block specific ones, and allow only some sites through. As it is, I get a choice between scrubbing all tracking cookies and leaving all of them, unless I've missed a command somewhere.
