The magnitude of our Universe has taken mankind by surprise over and over. There are particles smaller than we ever imagined, and the part of the Universe we can see leaves room for more stars and galaxies than can be counted.
There's nothing to say that this Universe isn't part of something much larger, or that there aren't other universes in the space along side this one. We just don't know.
Considering that Man evolved to be a predator on this Earth and nothing else, simply filled a niche with a large brain rather than some other way to exploit the environment, it's amazing to me that we can know so much more than is necessary as it is. I don't think we can ever know it all, especially about other universes. And the way that information has expanded in the last 2- or 3 hundred years could make a fool out of me fairly rapidly.
