Fox's Shep Smith has a "Howard Beale moment"
It's impressive. Chris Wallace was punditing in a window, managing to sound aggravated without quite condemning Trump and Family. At about 3:40 Smith breaks in with more breaking news, about The Eighth Man in the room. And that rubbed his last nerve too raw.
"Why all these lies? Why is it lie after lie after lie?".
One commentator called it a Howard Beale moment, but another compared it to LBJ losing Walter Cronkite. I have to admit, over the years I've seen Shep slip the leash just often enough to think there's a decent human being in there. The only one at Fox News.
