During my Silicon Valley spook days...

...I was also required by law to report any contact with Russian nationals, no matter how innocent or social it might be. In one case, I met an American who invited me to his home, and his wife of 15 years, although now a US citizen, was a former Soviet citizen. At dinner, the lady had invited some other Russian emigres to attend and my masters were very interested in the proceedings. Although the Russian lady and her countrymen turned out to be totally innocent, our authorities were not going to take my word for it and expected me to promptly report the meeting and everything that happened there.

The more I hear about the Trump-Russia connection the more I am inclined to believe it might be treasonous---perhaps not by the legal definition of treason ("aid and comfort to the enemy", etc)
but by the fact that they were willing to collaborate and coordinate secretly with enemies of the US simply because they felt their hatred of Obama and Clinton justified it.

But even more important, the rising revulsion I feel about this whole affair is not just directed to the Trump gang--that could be explained as sheer greed and stupidity--but by the way the rest of the Conservative establishment is trying to cover for him. These people are willing to sell out their country just so they can get their tax cuts and regulatory holidays passed. THAT is, by any definition, treason. They are selling their country out for money.
