(I dont think there are any spoilers)

Not my kind of movie.

There was enough gore and violence to satisfy any teenager. The documentary style in the beginning was annoying as well as some of the shaky camera work. District 9 is simply an unpleasant experience- sort of like watching "Clockwork Orange". The environment and the futility of attempting to exist at the hands of a murderous regime reminded me of "Blackhawk Down", the number of bullets fired was at least as great if not more. Much of the science/tech has been done before but frankly I didn't bother to pay much attention. I did like the acting done by the lead character and the CG was good but other than that, it was dark and disturbing with no light moments. It's definitely no "Independence Day".

I'd be curious to read another Zoner's take on it .
