I can't accept the premise that any nation would allow a large population of aliens from another world on their territory. Too much paranoia about alien diseases just for starters.

I also am not big on the pseudo-documentary style stuff but I definitely appreciated the special effects. Amazing it was done on $30m.

The lead actor had a good character arc, going from someone who burned prawn eggs to risking his life to help the two get away. I can think of better actors who could have done a better job but he was not horrible.

In a nutshell, it's Alien Nation with turrets syndrome and some elements of The Fly.
