And for a little perspective...
As of August 21, 2009, the Federal Debt held by the public (all federal debt held by individuals, corporations, state or local governments, foreign governments, and other entities outside the United States Government) was about $7.38 trillion.
That's the accumulation of the deficits of every president back to George Washington.
When Bush took office this number was at about $3.4 trillion.
While Bush doubled the debt number, which definitely sucks from any political standpoint, Obama is going to double the result AGAIN. There is no way anybody can consider this an improvement.
