Mississippi is looking good. Alaska, maybe not.
Colom's lead in MS is up to about 2700 votes, and a big number of the uncounted votes (around 10k of them) are in Hinds County where Colom has collected almost 80% of the vote so far. This one will get called before Alaska.
Alaska has Peltola ahead 48.2% to 47.9%, which equates to a little over 600 votes. Somewhere around 70k+ votes uncounted yet. The tricky part is Peltola could get screwed by rank choice voting. If no candidate get to 50%, the last place candidate is eliminated and his voters second choice is distributed to the remaining. If no one has 50% still, they do it again with the next to last place candidate. There are four candidates in the race: the infamous "other" Dan Sullivan currently in 4th, and republican Gerald Heikes in 3rd. It's probably safe to say both those candidates voters second choice will be republican incumbent Dan Sullivan.
If we lose Alaska it's a shame, but 55 Senate seats is a nice consolation.
I've been patiently following the Mississippi and Alaska senate races
