A nice distraction

A few criticisms. I think she could have done a better job of bringing visuals to the technology and the species of the compact. Luckily I read the appendix which does just that but still is lacking in detail. Also you never saw Tully's viewpoint. I guess that comes in the following books?
Still a page turner in spots.
