If the facts are on your side, you don't have to invent falsehoods to make your case...

By bolstering their case with lies and misdirection, they not only reveal their position cannot be defended honestly, and they also reveal they don't care...

They will just go on believing whatever bullshit makes them feel good, no matter how detached it is from reality...
