This whole exercise in family separation was designed as deterrence, not a means of managing a legitimate problem, but an attempt to coerce the petitioners into going away by terrorizing them. It was blackmail, pure and simple. And now that its inhumanity has been exposed and universally denounced, there is no Plan B in place to sort it all out and set things right. It just never occurred to them how evil it was, in fact, it still doesn't.
To them, its just a phony public relations issue "stirred up" by the Liberal Media.
