There is nothing wrong with any of those terms, or with the sentiments they refer to, UNLESS they are used in a way that implies those who disagree with you lack those qualities.

Language is a weapon. The difference between then and now is that your opponents are now armed too. Dismissing it as "political correctness" does not make it go away. You'd better get used to it.
